Take a Veteran Fishing (TAVF.org) and 94 of this nation’s Veterans could not have asked for a better day to fish at such a nice property. The food was outstanding as always, can’t beat a sausage egg and cheese on a hard roll first thing in the morning. The lunch was fantastic and kept on coming sandwiches, hot dogs and the favorite chicken wings. The first fish caught award went to the Osprey. The mid-morning raffle of two rods donated by Ronald Buxton was a big hit, thank you for the donation.  Bob Reinwald pulled seven names to be added to the July charter and Rich Tenore was able to select the participants for the June charter. These Charters along with the Veteran Angler Charters provide 45 additional Veterans with the opportunity to fish this year.  Thank you, Sam Mercuriano of the Guilford Sportsmen’s Association for coordinating an excellent Day with our Veterans.

    • Robert,
      Which event?
From shore? We fish at Killam’s Point in Branford. Next event 22 July. All you have to do is email me (jrw588@hotmail.com) or text 8604783580 and let me you are coming. Very important to let me know, this is how we get the count for lunch.

      From Boat?
The charters seats are all filled, veterans were selected by raffle at the past four events. You must attend an event to get raffle ticket.

Branford Yacht Club event, we currently have 125 vets signed up. This event requires in person sign up at one of our events as well. If come too the July event come see me (John weaver) I will add you to list.

Have a great day hope to see you in July

  1. It’s great that you send out the info in regards to past events. My question is How does a veteran get a list of up coming events so he can join in the fun?  Peter “Doc” WightSSGT USAF 1971 – 1975 602 Campbell Avenue, 4CWest Haven, CT 06516 docwpd@yahoo.com Remember, Freedom Is Never Free – Support Our Armed Forces and Veterans.   No man is above the law and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man’s permission when we require him to obey it.
